Dementia Village

In collaboration with Eylül Aslan & Lovisa Söderström

A dementia village gracefully integrated into a sloping site, prioritizing residents' well-being through accessible design. The project emphasizes easy movement, connection, and sensory stimulation, aiming to instill a sense of freedom within necessary boundaries. The architecture is practical and inclusive, featuring a wheelchair-friendly path that seamlessly winds through the entire building, eliminating the need for elevators.

The inner courtyards, resembling gentle slopes, encourage exploration. Along this meandering route, sensory stations offer moments of engagement—textures, scents, and visual delights. This village redefines care facilities, offering a compassionate space where design and humanity converge. It goes beyond being a structure, becoming a thoughtful innovation that embraces the human need for connection, exploration, and sensory joy. Welcome to a haven that prioritizes comfort and empowerment for its residents.
